NEW ABC featured at the anniversary of the Fórum Refúgio Portugal
On 11 June 2024, the Fórum Refúgio Portugal invited the NEW ABC coordinator to participate in the seminar they organised to celebrate their fifth anniversary, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the April Revolution in Portugal.
The seminar, entitled “50 anos de abril, 5 anos do Fórum Refúgio: Novas Realidades de Asilo e Imigração (50 years of April, 5 years of the Refuge Forum: New Realities of Asylum and Immigration)” was co-organised with CRIA – Centro em Rede de Investigação em Antropologia, and with the support of the NEW ABC partner association União de Refugiados em Portugal (Union of Refugees in Portugal) – UREP, at ISCTE- University Institute of Lisbon.
Our project coordinator Rachele Antonini participated in a panel where different projects aimed at providing “Alternative responses to integration issues in Portugal” were presented, and she gave an overview of the work carried out in NEW ABC.
The event also included the NEW ABC Traveling Exhibition, which, apart from the pictures making up the exhibition, also held pictures the Portuguese partners took during the testing and retesting of the pilot actions they conducted in Portugal. “The event went very well and we are currently organizing the exhibition set up at two additional venues soon”, stated the NEW ABC partner and organiser of the event Alexander Kpatue.
