Le parole dell’acqua: a multilingual podcast
Le parole dell’acqua is a multilingual podcast made by the first-grade classes of the Glauco Fiorino and Leonardo da Vinci secondary schools of the Istituto Comprensivo Valle del Montone as part of their participation in the pilot activity ‘Teacher training and family involvement in pluralistic approaches to language education’. The conversations that can be heard in the different episodes are not spontaneous, but as the talk is by boys and girls, the result is quite natural. They experimented with various means of expression, including poetry, storytelling, illustration and oral narration.
The girls and boys of classes 1D and 1E created multilingual vocabulary cards on various water-related words. Furthermore, it has a lot of information on idioms and translations to different languages of the vocabulary related to words. Between one definition and the next, the pupils of the two classes, who carried out the course together, translated the words, proverbs and idioms into the different languages and dialects of their linguistic repertoire.
