Flashback to dissemination events of the repilot action “My Ideal School”
During the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024, the NEW ABC partner SYNTHESIS had been immersed in dissemination activities to present key findings on the implementation of the repilot action “My Ideal School”. Find details of the three events they organised below.
On 6 December 2023, SYNTHESIS hosted an open event to present the key findings of the repilot action “My Ideal School”. This significant gathering attracted a diverse group of stakeholders, including municipal officers, educators, youth interested in the project, and representatives from local organizations and NGOs. The event featured detailed presentations of the NEW ABC project and repilot activities, interactive discussions, and Q&A sessions, providing attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the project’s outcomes and future directions. The enthusiastic participation and feedback from the audience highlighted the community’s strong interest and support for the initiative.
On the 14th of December 2023, SYNTHESIS hosted a dedicated conference for migrant parents whose children were actively engaged in our repilot activities. This event was designed not only as an expression of gratitude for their continuous support but also as an opportunity to foster a deeper connection with the community. During the conference, we showcased the main activities developed, featuring detailed presentations, success stories, and testimonials from both parents and children. Interactive sessions were included to provide parents with hands-on experiences and insights into the educational and social benefits their children have gained. The conference underscored NEW ABC’s commitment to inclusivity and community engagement, reinforcing the importance of parental involvement in the success of our project.
The final conference for the repilot “My Ideal School”, held on January 18, 2024, brought together the educational community of Cyprus for a landmark event. Selected teachers showcased their innovative activities and best practices, sharing insights and successes from their classrooms. The conference featured a keynote address by Despo Kyprianou, representative from the Ministry of Education and expert on the integration of migrant children, who provided a comprehensive theoretical overview of migration and its profound impact on children’s education and well-being. Approximately 90 individuals attended, predominantly teachers and headteachers, alongside educational policymakers and community leaders. The event also included interactive sessions and networking opportunities, fostering a collaborative environment for sharing knowledge and experiences. The high level of engagement and the diverse perspectives presented highlighted the collective commitment of the NEW ABC project to addressing the challenges and opportunities associated with migration in the educational sector.
